Experience:Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evrim Ünsal was born in Kayseri in 1975. In 1997, she graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. She received her M.Sc. degree from Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Histology Embryology between 1998-2000 and her PhD degree from Ankara University, Institute of Biotechnology in 2007. Between 2000-2001, she received the qualification to work in the Embryology Laboratory from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and microinjection certificates in 2006. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Bilim University, Department of Histology Embryology (2011-2015) and as a faculty member at Yeni Yüzyıl University / Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biology and Genetics (2015-2018). In 2018, she received the title of "Associate Professor" and has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Medical Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, Yüksek İhtisas University, which she started in the same year. Evrim Ünsal, who started her professional life as an "Embryologist" at Baskent University Ankara Hospital IVF Center in 1993, worked as an "Embryologist" at Ankara Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Hospital IVF Center between 1997-2001 and has been working as the Laboratory Manager of Genart Women's Health IVF and Reproductive Biotechnology Center since 2002. Since 2005, Ünsal has focused her studies on Molecular Genetics and especially Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening techniques. She manages the Molecular Genetics Laboratory within the Mikrogen Genetic Diseases Diagnosis Center and continues her studies on carrier tests, exome and genome tests and analyzes for rare disease screening with new generation sequencing technologies. Evrim Ünsal, who is working in a group of TUBITAK and European Union funded projects in line with her studies on Rare Diseases and Reproductive Genetics, continues to work on the topics of "Use of microRNA-based biomarkers in the prediction of endometrial implantation window using minimally invasive methods", "Development of NGS-based carrier screening kit and integrated analysis program", "Diagnosis of rare diseases with genome-based DNA-Seq and RNA-Seq analysis". She has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Clinical Embryology for 12 years and continues her professional activities within the Board of Directors of the Association of Private Genetic Diagnostic Centers. Since 1998, Evrim Ünsal has been working as a TÜRKAK Auditor within the scope of Assisted Reproduction and Genetic Diagnosis laboratories within the Turkish Accreditation Agency and is married and has two children.
