Prof. Volkan Baltacı ,MD

Prof. Dr. Volkan Baltacı was born in Ankara in 1964. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He completed his specialty training in Medical Genetics in 1993 and received his associate professorship in 1999. In 2003, Dr. Baltacı completed his PhD in Toxicology and has performed prenatal genetic diagnosis tests on more than 30,000 patients since 1993. Later on, he focused his studies in the field of reproductive genetics and preimplantation genetic diagnosis and published many local and foreign articles on this subject. Volkan Baltacı, who has worked as a faculty member in the Genetics Departments of different universities, worked in Baylor College (Houston-USA) on reproductive genetics and preimplantation genetic diagnosis and then worked as the Embryology Laboratory manager at Ankara University IVF Unit. Dr. Volkan Baltacı, who was promoted to full professor in February 2008, is married and has two children. He is currently working as the Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at Yüksek İhtisas University Faculty of Medicine.
