Prof. Volkan Baltacı ,MD

Prof. Volkan Baltacı ,MD Founder and CEO of Mikrogen Genetic Diagnosis Center, was born in 1964 in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1988 and completed his specialization in Medical Genetics at the same university in 1993. He was appointed Associate Professor in 1999 and became a Professor in 2008. In addition, he earned a Ph.D. in Toxicology in 2003. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Prof. Dr. Baltacı has performed more than 20,000 prenatal genetic diagnostic tests. Since 1998, he has focused his research on reproductive genetics and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), publishing numerous national and international scientific articles on these topics. He gained international experience at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, USA, where he focused on reproductive genetics and preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and he has also served as a faculty member at several universities. Prof. Dr. Baltacı is an active member of many professional organizations, including the Genetic Diseases Counseling Society, where he serves as President, as well as the Medical Genetics Association, the Turkish Society for Reproductive Health and Infertility, the Turkish Infertility Foundation, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. His main areas of expertise include medical genetics, reproductive genetics, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and prenatal diagnosis.
